Overview:
The Eagles shot lights out in the first half of this game and were on a mission to win Friday night from Alico Arena. FGCU took a 62-37 lead into the half, and never looked back in the game. Chase Johnston led the Eagles with a game high 23 points, and 10 rebounds, earning his first career double-double. Isaiah Thompson finished with 21 points, and Andre Weir contributed 11 points. Austin Peay was led offensively by Elijah Hutchins-Everett, who scored 20 points. FGCU shot 50% from beyond the arc, hitting 13 three point field goals, and the hot shooting helped FGCU runaway with tonight’s game.
FGCU earned a spot in the ASUN Conference tournament as the 10th, and final seed, with the win over the Governors. Jacksonville lost to Eastern Kentucky, 56-52, and the Eagles controlled their destiny with the win, and would have won the tiebreaker, since FGCU won both games during the regular season vs the Dolphins.

#10 seed FGCU will face #9 seed Queens University in thr first round of the ASUN Conference tournament, Monday, from the KSU Convocation Center. The winner will face #1 Kennesaw State University, Tuesday, from the KSU Convocation Center.
