Overview:

FGCU and JU square off Thursday night, and both teams won their ASUN Conference openers, with FGCU defeating Liberty University at home, and Jacksonville defeating Bellarmine University at home. Head Coach Darnell Haney is in his fifth season leading the Dolphins. JU is led offensively by Seraphine Bastin, who comes to Jacksonville after spending four seasons at Wichita State, and is averaging 13.0 ppg. The Dolphins wins came against Johnson, FIU, Warner, Bethune Cookman, Presbyterian, Florida A&M, and Bellarmine. Their setbacks came against Kansas, USF, Iowa State, and Ole Miss. FGCU won both games last season vs Jacksonville, defeating the Dolphins on the road (83-64), and at home (78-55).

FGCU comes into this game, winners of their past five games, and coming off the ASUN Conference opener, where they dominated Liberty University. TK Morehouse continues to lead the Eagles offensively, and is averaging 15.1 ppg. Head Coach Karl Smesko has this team playing at a different level right now, so expect the Eagles to continue their domination of Jacksonville University.
