
Estero, FL- FGCU (5-2) defeated Kansas City (3-5), 73-59, winning the Gulf Coast Showcase championship, Wednesday night from Hertz Arena.

Overview:
FGCU won three games in three days, defeating Northern Kentucky, Drexel, and Kansas City, winning the Gulf Coast Showcase! The Eagles had four players finish in double figures in scoring including: Zach Anderson (15 pts), Isaiah Thompson (14 pts), Dahmir Bishop (12 pts), and Chase Johnston (10 pts). Anderson finished with a double double in the game, and continues his stellar season in the Eagles frontcourt. Andre Weir grabbed 11 boards in the game, and the frontcourt was able to shut down forwards Allen David Mukeba Jr (4 pts), and Jeff Ngandu (2 pts).
Rayquawndis Mitchell led Kansas City with a game high 29 points. Shermarri Allen also in finished in double figures in the game, scoring 10 points.
The Eagles committed a season low 3 team turnovers in tonight’s game, which is huge to build off as FGCU continues non-conference play. It was a great stretch of basketball from Hertz Arena, and now it’s onto the rest of the non-conference schedule, before FGCU soars into ASUN Conference play.

FGCU (5-2) heads on the road to face Georgia Southern University (3-3), on 11/30 from Statesboro, Georgia.
