Overview:
Isaiah Thompson, carried FGCU Tuesday night with a career high, and game high 27 points Tuesday night. His 17 2nd half points were much needed, since Drexel had a late surge in the 2nd half to close in on FGCU but the Eagles persevered. Chase Johnston scored 18 points, and had many key baskets for the Eagles, in a highly contested game with Drexel University. Thompson hit all of the 3 point field goals the Eagles would score in the game (5/10), which is an odd stat, since FGCU had been hitting 10+ 3 point field goals a game, on the regular. Andre Weir also had a strong game, finishing with 9 points, and 11 rebounds, just missing a double double. Weir was tasked with defending Amari Williams, who was a beast in the post for the Dragons.
Drexel was led offensively by Amari Williams, who scored 20 points, and was a complete force in the post for the Dragons.
