Overview:
FGCU heads into this game as winners of their past ten games, and are playing their best baseball, in all facets of the game heading into this game with #8 FSU. The Noles just took 2 out of 3 this weekend at home from the University of California. Head Coach Mike Martin Jr, is in his 3rd season leading the Seminoles. The Eagles won’t be facing Parker Messick (2-0, 1.80 ERA), Bryce Hubbart (3-0, 0.96 ERA), and Ross Dunn (0-0, 1.46 ERA), as they all started in the previous weekend series vs Cal.
#8 FSU is led offensively by 6’1 FR C/OF Jaime Ferrer, who is batting .359. Logan Lacey (3 HR, 13 RBI’s) and Alex Toral (2 HR, 12 RBI’s) are the power bats, who lead the Noles when it comes to RBI’s. FGCU is led offensively by Alejandro Rodriguez, who is batting .463 with 13 RBI’s. Brian Ellis leads the Eagles with 17 RBI’s. This Eagles offensive is so balanced, with multiple hitters, driving in 10+ RBI’s. FGCU will want to score plenty of runs vs #8 FSU, if they can get to SO RHP Carson Montgomery early. FGCU has driven in almost double the amount of RBI’s as the Noles (122-63). Should be a fun game Tuesday night in Tallahassee.
