Overview:

FGCU faces Lipscomb University, a team they upset as a 6 seed during the ASUN Quarterfinals last year, winning 72-60. The Eagles/Bisons rivalry spans years, and you can say there’s always that bad taste in your mouth, if you’re an Eagles fan and you remember that ASUN Championship game vs Lipscomb at Alico Arena in the 2017-18 season. Head Coach Lennie Acuff has been with the team since 2019. Ahsan Asadullah leads the Bisons offensively, averaging 15.3 ppg. Lipscomb played a non-conference schedule with games on the road vs Dayton, Belmont, Florida State, Miami, and #16/#17 LSU. The Bisons are 3-6 in ASUN Conference play, with wins vs UNA, KSU, and UNF. ,

Tavian Dunn-Martin continues his outstanding play on the season, and it looks like the only player in the ASUN, to challenge him for ASUN Player of the Year will be Darius McGhee, who averages 22.1 ppg. His double double Thursday night was vital in the Eagles win over UCA. Wins like Thursday night, FGCU has to have, after losing to JU, and KSU so early in ASUN play. A win over Lipscomb University would put the Eagles at 5-5 in ASUN play which would be a good start in getting back on track.
