Overview:
FGCU flexed their muscles, hitting four home runs, as Joe Kinker, Stephen Wilmer, Trevor Kole, and Alejandro Figueredo went deep in the game, to pace FGCU to a 7-0 victory, in the first game of ASUN Tournament play. LJ McDonough (6-2) pitched masterfully, lasting 6 innings, allowing 0 runs, 3 hits, while striking out 3 Dolphins. Nick Love earned his 4th save of the season, pitching 3 innings, and allowing only 2 hits, while striking out 3. Jacksonville University starter Blake Barquin (3-4) took the loss, allowing 4 earned runs in 6 innings pitched. Wilmer and Kinker led the Eagles with a game high 2 RBI’s each. This game was the perfect way to start tournament play, and we hope the Eagles keep this going headed into game two of Pool A play.
