Overview:

The Eagles and Governors square off for the first this season, and Austin Peay is currently 2nd place in the ASUN Conference standings, with a 12-6 record. The Governors are led offensively by Lyle Miller-Green, who is batting .380, with 12 home runs, and 40 RBI’s. Garrett Martin leads Austin Peay in home runs (15), and RBI’s (46), so FGCU will have to limit Miller-Green and Martin to be successful. Head Coach Roland Fanning is in his first season leading the Governors, and spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach for Oklahoma State University.

FGCU is led offensively by Edrick Felix, who is hitting .411, with 19 home runs and 59 RBI’s. The Eagles are coming off an ASUN Conference series win at home vs Jacksonville State University, where the Eagles took two of three games from the Gamecocks. The Eagles also defeated USF 14-3, Tuesday afternoon in Tampa. FGCU is in 1st place in the ASUN Conference standings, with a record of 13-5, so this is an important series for the Eagles to win, so they can maintain the top spot overall. The Eagles have hit 98 home runs while driving in 397 runs in 41 games, while Austin Peay has hit 49 home runs while driving in 281 runs. It’s a huge series from the Hand, as the Eagles make their first trip into ‘Stacheville.
