Fort Myers, FL- #24 FGCU (29-11, 13-5 ASUN) took two of three games vs Jacksonville State University (18-20, 11-7 ASUN), this weekend from Swanson Stadium.

Overview:

In the first game of the series, the Eagles relied on their offense, and Edrick Felix powered #24 FGCU to victory, finishing 3 for 6, with 2 home runs, and 4 RBI’S. Harrison Povey also homered in the game for the Eagles. William Haberstock (5-0), earned the victory out of the bullpen for #24 FGCU. Mason Maners (2 for 5, HR, 3 RBI’s), and Derrick Jackson (3 for 5, HR, 2 RBI’s) led the offense for Jacksonville State.

In the middle game of the series, JSU hit five home runs en route to the big victory. Carson Crowe (2 home runs), Caleb Johnson (2 home runs), and Jarrett Eaton (home run) led the offense for the Gamecocks. Harrison Povey hit two home runs in the game, and led the Eagles offensively with 2 RBI’s.

In the final game of the series, #24 FGCU once again relied on their big bats, as Joe Kinker hit a 3 run home run in the bottom of the 1st, to pace the Eagles with 4 RBI’s. Jacob Lojewski also homered in the game for #24 FGCU. Connor O’Hara (4-2), was dominant out of the bullpen, pitching 7 innings, allowing only one earned run, while striking out five Gamecocks. Caleb Johnson paced JSU with 2 RBI’s in the game.

What’s Next:

#24 FGCU (29-11) heads on the road to face USF (17-23), Tuesday afternoon at 3 PM, from USF Baseball Stadium.
