Overview:

The Eagles and Royals meet for the first time in program history on Thursday morning from the Tuckaseegee Dream Fields. Queens has had a rough first season in D-1, with a 6-22 record overall, and a 2-7 record in ASUN Conference play. Head Coach Ross Steedley has led the Royals since 2020. Riley Cheek leads the team offensively with a .339 batting average, and has 6 home runs, with 20 RBI’s. 5’11 FR RHP Brandon Dahlman leads the team in wins with 3, and he is 3-0, with a 8.04 ERA, and has made 13 appearances for the Royals.

#15 FGCU is coming off a non-conference loss to FAU, where the Owls walked off, courtesy of a Dylan Goldstein grand slam. The Eagles are led offensively by Alejandro Figueredo, who has a .403 batting average, with 11 HR, and 35 RBI’s overall this season. Edrick Felix and Figueredo each lead the team with 11 home runs, and Joe Kinker leads the Eagles with 40 RBI’s. #15 FGCU has won every series they have played this season, and this past weekend, they took two out of three games, vs Jacksonville University. The Eagles have outscored the Royals 273-145 this season, and this series could be like the UNA series, where FGCU dominated the Lions, in every facet of the game.
