Overview:
Evan Chrest (4-0) held FGCU in check Friday night, and the Dolphins were able to take game one of the series. #16 FGCU took a 2-0 lead in the game, but JU responded with a Chase Malloy 2 run home run in the top of the 5th to tie the game up (2-2). Ridley and Armstrong RBI’s would be the difference in the game, and Chris Lotito shut the door on the Eagles in the bottom of the 9th, earning his 7th save of the season.

Overview:
Saturday afternoon was the Edrick Felix show, as the Sophomore infielder went 3/3, with a double, 2 home runs, and 8 RBI’s carrying the Eagles offense vs JU. Jacob Lojewski and Harrison Povey each hit home runs also for #16 FGCU. William Haberstock (4-0) earned the win, in relief of Mason Miller, who was injured in the game after pitching 1.1 innings. Hogan McIntosh led the Dolphins offensively with a home run and 2 RBI’s.

Overview:
JU jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 3 innings, but #16 FGCU wasn’t done, as Joe Kinker hit a 3 run home run to make the game a 5-3 game in the bottom of the 3rd. The Dolphins continued to add on as the game was a 7-3 lead in the top of the 4th. #16 FGCU answered with 12 straight runs to take the game and series though, and the Eagles were led offensively by Kinker (2 HR) and Brian Ellis (HR), who each had 4 RBI’s in the game. Ellis’s home run in the bottom of the 7th extended the Eagles lead to 5 runs (12-7). What an outstanding weekend for the Eagles to take the series from a Jacksonville University team playing their best baseball this season. The Eagles were able to limit Kris Armstrong to 5 RBI’s which was a feat after he hit 8 home runs the week before, including six of those Saturday and Sunday vs UCA.

#16 FGCU (23-5) heads on the road to face FAU (18-11), Tuesday night at 6:30 PM from FAU Baseball Stadium in Boca Raton.
