Overview:
#19 FGCU continues to swing hot bats, and powered their way to a big victory over FIU Wednesday night. The Eagles used the long ball, as Alejandro Figueredo, Jacob Lojewski, and Harrison Povey went deep in the game. Alejandro Rodriguez and Alejandro Figueredo each had 3 RBI’s to lead #19 FGCU offensively. Joe Kinker had 2 RBI’s, and led the team with 3 hits in the game. William Haberstock (3-0) was outstanding out of the pen, pitching 4 innings, and allowing one earned run, while striking out 4 Golden Panthers, while walking one. FIU starter Joel Pinerio (0-1) didn’t make it out of the 1st inning, as the Eagles jumped all over him, with a 3 run top of the 1st. FIU scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st against FGCU starter Jackson Woodward, but that’s the closest they would get in the game, as the Eagles continued to add on runs vs FIU. It was another dominant effort for the Eagles as they look to continue to move up in the national rankings.
