Overview:
#24 FGCU and JSU square off for the first time this season, Saturday, from the Pete Mathews Coliseum. The Gamecocks are 8-8 in ASUN Conference play, and are currently in a 3 way tie for 6th place, in the conference. Head Coach Rick Pietri has led the Gamecocks since 2013. Kennedy Gavin leads JSU offensively, averaging 12.2 ppg. Shawnta Shaw is having a strong season also, and is averaging 10.3 ppg.
FGCU is led offensively by TK Morehouse, who is averaging 16.1 ppg. Sha Carter continues to lead the team recently in points , and is averaging 13.6 ppg for the year. She is making her case for ASUN Conference 1st team, with the numbers she has been putting up offensively. Carter has been the player to step up when needed offensively, and with the play of Morehouse, Carter, and Winston, it’s pick your poison, and with whatever choice you make, someone will be left open. Liberty is 14-2 in ASUN Conference play, so FGCU can not overlook any team, and the Eagles need to extend their winning streak to ten games, with the Flames right behind them in the conference standings.
