This game had a little bit of everything in it, with the Eagles racing off to a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st, courtesy of Joe Kinker (RBI single), and Jacob Lojewski (2 RBI single). FGCU carried a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 6th, before the Sycamores bats put up 6 runs, which was highlighted by a Sears grand slam. Harrison Povey brought the Eagles back within one run, in the top of the 8th inning, with a 2 RBI triple, and Alejandro Figueredo tied the game up at 7 with a sacrifice fly. Indiana State got the go ahead run in the bottom of that inning, courtesy of a Sears RBI single. While it’s disappointing losing games like these overall, it’s so early in the season, and the Eagles have the opportunity to head home this weekend, for another big series.

What’s Next:

FGCU (4-1) heads home to face the University of Massachusetts-Lowell (0-3), for a three game series, starting Friday night, from Swanson Stadium.
