Overview:

FGCU faces off with Missouri Valley Conference member: Indiana State University, Tuesday afternoon from Port Charlotte. The Sycamores are 1-1, and lost to Iowa, and defeated Quinnipiac so far this season. Indiana State was selected to finish 4th in the Missouri Valley Conference this season, and earned one 1st place vote. Josue Urdaneta returns, and leads the Sycamores with a .571 batting average in two games overall. The Eagles last faced Indiana State in 2021, and FGCU lost 5-3, from Swanson Stadium.

The Eagles head into this game, on fire offensively, after hitting 6 home runs, and 33 RBI’s in a four game series vs Hofstra. Pitching was strong too, and it’s a small sample size, but you have to love what we have seen so far from this team. The batting order from top to bottom is going to give many teams problems. Joe Kinker and Alejandro Figueredo both lead the Eagles offensively, hitting .467 with a HR, and 5 RBI’s. We have been super impressed with newcomer Edrick Felix, who had a huge weekend for the Eagles, batting .385, with 2 HR, and 7 RBI’s. It should be a great game Tuesday afternoon, from Centennial Park, between the Eagles and Sycamores.
