Overview:

FGCU blew a 12 point lead in the second half Thursday night, and their struggles during ASUN Conference play continue. The offense wasn’t a problem, but making stops was the bigger issue. In a game where you hold Camren Hunter to 9 points, you expect a better result. Eddy Kayouloud took over for the Sugar Bears, finishing with a game high 32 points, and 11 rebounds, dominating the Eagles in the post. We stated in the preview article, that you can’t forget about Eddy Kayouloud, and he burned FGCU offensively, Thursday night.

Isaiah Thompson did everything he could to try to will the Eagles to victory, finishing with 29 points in the game. Chase Johnston finished with 20 points, shooting 54% (6/11) from beyond the arc in the game. The Eagles issues just seem to continue, as they have lost four games in a row, and have won of three of their last ten games. Coach Chambers is looking for answers for this team, especially with the successful non-conference season they played earlier in the year. The Eagles are tied with UNF for 10th place, the final seed that qualifies for the ASUN Conference Tournament, and now have double digit losses so far this season (10). FGCU has to figure something out, or their season will be over, sooner rather than later.

What’s Next:
