Overview:
FGCU almost overcome being down double digits to come back and beat KSU, until Terrell Burden hit two go ahead free throws, with 32 seconds left, to seal the game for the first place Owls.
FGCU was led offensively by Isaiah Thompson, who scored a game high 16 points. Chase Johnston (15 points), and Zach Anderson (12 points), also scored in double figures in the game for the Eagles. KSU was led offensively by Brandon Stroud, who scored a team high 15 points. Terrell Burden (12 points) and Chris Youngblood (11 points), also scored in double figures for KSU. FGCU showed the fight that Head Coach Pat Chambers was looking for, and offensively hit 10 three point field goals, and were able to limit the Owls offensively to twenty-nine 2nd half points. FGCU will be heading back on the road, hungry for wins, as they will spend Thursday vs Queens University of Charlotte, and Saturday vs Liberty University.
