Lynchburg, VA- FGCU (18-3, 6-1 ASUN) saw their ten game winning streak come to an end, Saturday night, vs Liberty University (11-7, 5-2 ASUN), losing, 88-78, in overtime, from Liberty Arena.

FGCU shot 37.9% (25/66) from the field, 37.5% (12/32) from beyond the arc, and both teams finished with 35 rebounds. The Eagles dished out 13 assists, had 9 steals, and 0 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 16 Liberty team turnovers, while having 14 team turnovers of their own.

Liberty shot 56.7% (34/60) from the field, 53.3% (8/15) from beyond the arc, and both teams finished with 35 rebounds. The Flames dished out 17 assists, had 3 steals, and 5 blocks in the game. Liberty forced 14 FGCU team turnovers, while having 16 team turnovers of their own.

Overview:

What a game Saturday night in Lynchburg! The Eagles and Flames went back and forth for the whole game, until the Flames took over in overtime, outscoring FGCU 15-5.

TK Morehouse finished with a game high 27 points to lead the Eagles offensively. Sophia Stiles continued her outstanding play of late, and finished with 24 points in the game. Liberty was led offensively by Kennedi Williams, who scored 24 points. Mya Berkman had another huge game too, finishing with 18 points. FGCU held a 73-68 lead with 26 seconds left in the game, until Dee Brown hit a layup, and Emma Hess hit a game tying three point field goal with 3 seconds left in the game. It was another classic game between both teams, and you can bet we will have a third game to settle the series, in the ASUN Conference tournament!
