Overview:
FGCU overcame a sloppy game vs JSU, to earn a much needed ASUN Conference victory, Thursday night at home. The Eagles were led offensively by Zach Anderson, who scored 13 points, and returned after missing the past two games with a concussion. Isaiah Thompson (11 points), and Andre Weir (10 points), also scored in double figures for the Eagles.
Juwan Perdue scored a game high 17 points, and was the player JSU relied on, whenever needing a basket. The Eagles held Demaree King in check from beyond the arc, limiting him to 6 points in the game, and 0/7 from beyond the arc. King was the leading scorer for JSU headed into this game. FGCU needed a win desperately, and while the offense still has plenty of work to do, you collect this win, and continue the homestand. Chase Johnston did get injured in the game, so we will hope for the best as to his status, headed into this weekend.
