Overview:

JU could not miss a shot in the 1st half, and at one point in the 2nd half, FGCU was down 49-31. Though, the Eagles battled back in the game. Zach Anderson scored a game high 18 points, and 14 rebounds, while Isaiah Thompson, finished with 14 points.

Jacksonville was led offensively by Gyasi Powell, and Jordan Davis, who each scored 16 points. The Dolphins only dressed seven players due to injury, so when JU was up so big early, you wondered if they could keep up this offensive pace, or if in the 2nd half it might be too much since JU Basketball is very physical and that can take a toll on the body for both the Eagles, and the Dolphins.

FGCU shot 37.9% from beyond the arc, hitting 11 three point field goals in the game, and their 2nd half shooting was the difference in starting ASUN Conference play 1-0. The 21-4 run the Eagles went on in the 2nd half, was the difference in the game, and key to their first conference win. Consistent two halve basketball is going to be vital, for the Eagles vs the rest of the ASUN Conference. It was a great comeback win to start conference play, now it’s time to head out on the road!
