Overview:
FGCU survived an off night from beyond the arc, to defeat Mercer University, Thursday night from Alico Arena. TK Morehouse led the Eagles with 15 points, Alyza Winston had 13 points, and Sophia Stiles finished with 12 points. Jaron Dougherty finished with a game high 16 points to lead the Bears offensively. Summah Evans finished with a double double, scoring 13 points, and grabbing 12 rebounds. FGCU finished the first quarter on a 14-0 run, which was huge at the time, since Mercer had an early 8-2 lead in the game. Offensively, each team scored 36 points in the 2nd half. The Eagles got the job done, completing a very impressive 12-2 non-conference record, that included a huge road win vs Kentucky, ASUN Conference play is upon us, and this is the portion of the season where you take every game, one at a time, secure those wins, and look to win another ASUN Conference regular season title, and ASUN Conference tournament championship.
