Overview:
FGCU faced a tough test from Ivy League member Brown University Wednesday night. Hot shooting from both teams was the story of tonight’s game. FGCU hit a season high 16 three point field goals in the game (16/34), shooting 47%, and that was the difference, since Brown could only shoot 22% (2/9) from beyond the arc, and were unable to keep up with the Eagles.
Kyla Jones had a game high 34 points, and Brown did everything they could to get her the ball when it mattered. The Eagles were led offensively by TK Morehouse, who scored 20 points. Alyza Winston (14 points), Kaela Webb (13 poijts), and Maddie Antenucci (13 points), all scored in double figures for FGCU. This was a huge game for the Eagles to win against a strong mid major team in Brown University, and will only help FGCU’s NCAA tournament resume, after another strong showing in ASUN Conference play, which begins 1/2 at home vs Liberty University.
What’s Next:
FGCU (11-2) remains home to finish non-conference play vs Mercer University (4-7), Thursday night at 7 PM from Alico Arena.
