Two teams with outstanding starts to the season face off Wednesday night in Boca Raton. The upstart Eagles have the massive upset on the road over USC to open the season, while FAU upset Florida on the road, and it was the Owls first power 5 conference upset since 2018.

FAU is led offensively by 6’2 SO G Alijah Martin, who is averaging 12.6 ppg. Martin has missed the past three games, and is a game time decision heading into Wednesday night. 6’1 SR G Michael Forrest averages 12.3 ppg, and has been huge for the Owls, while Martin has been sidelined. Head Coach Dusty May has led the Owls since 2018. The Owls have wins over Lynn, Florida, Bryant, Detroit Mercy, Albany, South Alabama, and Eastern Michigan. Their sole loss on the season came on the road vs Ole Miss. The Owls big man: 7’1 SO C Vladislav Goldin, could be a mismatch for the Eagles, with the injury to Andre Weir. Goldin is averaging 11.6 ppg in the post for FAU. The NET rankings were released Monday, and FAU is ranked #23, while FGCU is ranked #72, which brings even more intrigue to this mid week matchup. FAU has won six games in a row, leading into Wednesday night’s game. The Owls are a member of C-USA.

Anderson won ASUN Player of the Week last week, for his performances against Georgia Southern (11 points), and FIU (18 points, 13 rebounds) for the first time in his career.
