Overview:
This FGCU team adjusted well after building up a huge lead, that was cut down to 6 points (52-46) in the 3rd quarter of the game vs ODU. This team can fly down the court, and with the addition of Alyza Winston, TK Morehouse has another guard that can slash and fly down the court at the same speed of her. TK finished with a game high 24 points, while Alyza finished with 22 points, in her Eagles debut. Uju Ezeudu also finished in double figures, with 10 points in the game. Emma List also filed the stat sheet like she always does, and finished with 8 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. Boston College transfer Makayla Dickens led the Monarchs with 18 points.
Head Coach Karl Smesko played 13 players tonight, and every bench rotation seemed to work out for the Eagles. It was a great team win vs an Old Dominion University team that was very physical and game tonight vs the Eagles. So many veteran players on this team will provide the Eagles with the key depth they need when the season rolls into ASUN Conference play. The Hawaii trip coming up has the Eagles playing 5 games from November 18th-27th, and this will give Head Coach Karl Smesko the time to continue to experiment with different rotations and see how deep this team really is. Big win for the Eagles, and now it’s onto the next one.
