Overview:
The Eagles dropped another tough series this weekend vs Liberty University. In the first game of the series, the Eagles and Flames went back and forth scoringwise, as Liberty took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st. FGCU responded though wiith a 2 run home run from Ian Farrow, and solo home runs from Joe Kinker, and Alejandro Rodriguez. Multiple lead changes, and another 2 run home run from Ian Farrow helped extend the Eagles. FGCU held a 7-4 lead until a Cameron Foster 2 run home run tied the game up at 7 in the top of the 8th. A Joe Kinker walk off single earned the Eagles their first and only win of the series.
In the second game of the series, the Liberty bats poured it on the Eagles. The Flames raced out to a 6-0 lead after half an inning, and FGCU via solo home runs from Alejandro Figueredo, and Joe Kinker got two runs back in the bottom frame. Home runs from Mathieu and Foster extended the Liberty lead to 9-2, after 4 innings played. Trevor Kole provided an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th, and that was the only other offense the Eagles would receive in Saturday’s game. Liberty hit 6 home runs in the game, with Three Hillier coming through with 2 round trippers in the game. Joe Adametz III (6-2) was solid for Liberty, pitching 6 innings, and only allowing 2 ER, while striking out 8 Eagles.
In the final game of the series, Nathan Keeter hit a 3 run home run in the top of the 2nd, to give the Flames their first lead of the game. The Eagles responded though in the bottom of the 3rd, with a Bobby Head RBI, and 2 run home run from Ian Farrow. Liberty scored 5 runs in the top of the 8th, to blow the game open and win the series from the Eagles.

FGCU (31-20) faces #6 Miami (37-14) for the final time this season, Tuesday night at 6 PM, from Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
