Overview:
The Eagles were able to limit the damage in this game after FAU took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 3rd, as Dylan Goldstein drove in both runs with the bases loaded. That would be all the runs the Owls would score Tuesday night.
FGCU took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the 5th, as Alejandro Figueredo had an RBI double, and freshman sensation Harrison Povey came through with a sacrifice fly. Bobby Head would homer to left center, and Figueredo had another RBI in the 6th, to extend the Eagles lead to 6-2. Brian Ellis provided the final RBI in the game for the Eagles as he drove in Povey, in the bottom of the 7th inning. Nick Love (2-0) was solid in relief for FGCU earning the victory, allowing only 2 hits in 4 inning pitched. FGCU took 2 our of 3 games in the season series vs FAU.
What’s Next:
FGCU (30-18, 14-10 ASUN) faces Liberty University (30-16, 16-8 ASUN) for a three game series, starting Friday night from Swanson Stadium. Sunday is Senior day for the FGCU Baseball team, honoring the Seniors wearing the blue and green!
