Overview:

FGCU swept Stetson in ASUN Conference play, going 6-0 vs the Hatters this season. The Eagles picked up another series win, and in the process outscored the Hatters 28-5 this weekend.

In game one, FGCU received a great outing from Jason Woodward, who pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing 4 runs. The Eagles offense was led by Ian Farrow, and Alejandro Figueredo, who combined for 4 RBI’s in the game. Nick DiPonzio led the Hatters with 2 RBI’s in the game.

In the second game of the series, Tyler Shuck, turned in his best performance of the year, pitching a complete game 1 hit shutout. Tyler struck out 11 Hatters in the process. The Eagles offense was led by Ian Farrow, who went 2/4 for with a home run, and 2 RBI’s in the game. Joe Kinker also homered in the game for the Eagles.

In the final game of the series, the FGCU offense broke through especially in the middle innings, as Alejandro Rodriguez, and Alejandro Figueredo, each homered in the game, and combined to drive in 9 RBI’s. Joey Mugavero was outstanding, pitching 6 innings, while allowing 4 hits, an earned run, and struck out 6 Hatters.

What’s Next:

FGCU (26-14) heads on the road to face FAU (25-16), Tuesday night at 6:30 PM from FAU Stadium in Boca Raton.
