Overview:
FGCU faces a Liberty University team that took 2 out of 3 games to begin the season on the road vs #9 Florida, and were ranked in the top 25 (#14), for a good amount of this season. Head Coach Scott Jackson, has led the Flames since 2016. He was on the UNC baseball staff before coaching at Liberty. The Flames are led offensively by Derek Orndorff, who is hitting .329 with 11 home runs, and 24 RBI’s. Liberty has had a tough start to ASUN Conference play, losing two out of three games in a home series to Stetson, and losing two out of three games in a road series vs Jacksonville. The Flames won a series vs UNF, where they won two out of three games vs the Ospreys. The Eagles need to continue their hot start to ASUN play, and a series win vs the Flames would be huge at this point in the season.
Alejandro Figueredo, leads FGCU with a .410 batting average, and offensively has 5 HR, and 32 RBI’s. Ian Farrow leads the Eagles in both home runs (10), and RBI’s (39). FGCU has 264 RBI’s in 29 games this season.
