Overview:
FGCU took the lead in the top of the 1st inning with a Joe Kinker sacrifice fly, that scored Brian Ellis. Though, Miami responded quickly in the bottom of the inning, taking a 2-1 lead, courtesy of RBI’s by Maxwell Romero Jr, and Jacob Burke. The Burke RBI would be the go ahead run in tonight’s game. Tyler Tipton (2-1) lasted 3 innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs (ALL ER), while striking out 1 batter, and walking one batter. The Eagles weren’t able to muster anything off the Miami bullpen, as they allowed no hits, or runs in the game tonight. Luis Rodriguez hit a solo home run in the top of the 4th, to continue his strong season.
What’s Next:
FGCU (20-9, 7-2 ASUN) heads on the road to face Liberty University (17-9, 4-5 ASUN), for a three game series, starting Friday night, from Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
