Overview:
FGCU heads into this game as walk off winners of their past two games, this past weekend in a series win against Kennesaw State University. #7 Miami has won their past 8 games overall, after a 3 game road sweep against ACC opponent Duke University, this past weekend. #7 Miami defeated FGCU last Wednesday 11-7, in a game where a 10 run 3rd inning was the difference in the game. CJ Kayfus, and Maxwell Romero Jr each had 3 RBI’s in the Canes victory. Harrison Povey led the Eagles with 3 RBI’s in the game. Jake Garland (4-1) earned the victory, pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 runs (4 ER), while striking out 8 Eagles, and walking no batters. Mason Miller (1-4) took the loss only pitching 2 innings, allowing 6 hits, and 5 runs (4 ER). FGCU has the opportunity to beat a top 10 ranked team in the country, and earn that signature win, before heading back into ASUN Conference play vs Liberty University (17-9, 4-5 ASUN), for a three game series in Lynchburg, Virginia.
