Overview:
The USF offense proved to be too much for FGCU Tuesday night. Clutch 2 out hitting, combined with a deep lineup that hit 5 home runs against the Eagles led to a USF victory. USF was led offensively by Carmine Lane who hit a home run and had 5 RBI’s, and Drew Brutcher who hit 2 home runs, and had 6 RBI’s. FGCU was led offensively by Joe Kinker, who hit a three run home run, and Ian Farrow, who hit a home run, and drove in 2 runs. Starting pitcher Mason Miller (1-3), struggled with his command, walking 4 Bulls, and giving up multiple home runs in the game. Joseph Sanchez (2-0), earned the win in relief, pitching 3 innings, allowing only one earned run.
This is the type of game that happens, and you look forward to a weekend series with Jacksonville University, a team that ended FGCU’s season last year. The Eagles will definitely be motivated after last year’s ASUN Quarterfinals. The Eagles will face USF one more time in Tampa on April 12th, and hope to at split the season series with the Bulls.
What’s Next:
FGCU (16-5) remains at home to face Jacksonville University (11-8), for a three game series starting Friday night.
