The Eagles head into this game after defeating Detroit Mercy, 95-79, Wednesday night, and Coastal Carolina defeated UMES 66-42 in both their first games in The Basketball Classic. Rudi Williams led the Chanticleers offensively scoring 18 points in the win. Head Coach Cliff Ellis is in his 15th season leading the Chanticleers. Coastal Carolina went 8-8 in conference play as a member of the Sun Belt conference. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament to #10 Georgia Southern 70-64. Coastal Carolina is led offensively by 6’6 SR G Vince Cole, who averages 15.4 ppg. FGCU is led offensively by 5’8 GR G Tavian Dunn-Martin who averages 21.5 ppg.
