Overview:

FGCU won another ASUN Conference Championship title and will be representing the conference with the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament! The Eagles incredible season is just getting started as the postseason has arrived, and Head Coach Karl Smesko looks to go on a deep run in March. Kierstan Bell led the Eagles offensively with a game high 26 points, and TK Morehouse finished with 17 points. Jacksonville State was led offensively by Kiana Johnson, and Kennedy Gavin, who each scored 13 points. FGCU held the Ganecocks leading scorer, Imari Martin to 10 points in the game. JSU held a 32-30 lead at the half, and the Eagles, behind a 21 point 3rd Quarter, had the lead as the quarter ended, and held JSU to only eight 4th quarter points, which secured the win. It was a well coached game by both sides, and JSU will be contending for years to come. With this being their first season in the ASUN Conference, expect a rivalry to grow between two of the most talented teams in the ASUN Conference.
