Overview:
FGCU looks to get back on track after a tough loss on the road to #8 Florida State. The Eagles are 7-2 from Swanson Stadium, and have had a strong non-conference start to their season.
The Stags come into this game with wins over Elon (2), and St Joseph’s (1). Their non-conference schedule has includes games vs ASUN opponent Kennesaw State University also, and Fairfield suffered a three game sweep to the Owls. Head Coach Bill Currier has been with the Stags for 10 seasons. Fairfield University is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Stags are led offensively by 5’9 SO LHP/OF Evan Berta, who is hitting .370 on the season. The Eagles have 126 RBI’s in 13 games this season, while Fairfield has only 37 RBI’s in 9 games this season.
FGCU is led offensively by 5’11 JR INF Alejandro Rodriguez, who is batting .442 this season, with 13 RBI’s. The whole lineup for the Eagles has been cooking this season, so we expect FGCU to get back to work at home vs Fairfield this weekend.
