Overview:
FGCU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, courtesy of a Ian Farrow ground out that scored Brian Ellis, and the Eagles had multiple innings where they had either 2 runners, or the bases loaded, but it wasn’t enough, as #8 FSU courtesy of the long ball, made it a rough night for the Eagles. The Seminoles blew the game wide open in the bottom of the 6th, courtesy of back to back home runs, which included a James Tibbs grand slam, and a Logan Lacey solo home run. Jaime Ferrer had another big game for #8 FSU, driving in 3 RBI’s, which included a solo home run that tied the game up at 1 in the bottom of the 3rd. FGCU fought back to score a few runs in the top of the 8th, and 9th, which included a Joe Kinker solo home run, Jalen Townsend RBI groundout, and Brian Ellis RBI single. The Eagles even loaded the bases up in the 9th, but Jonah Scolaro struck out Harrison Povey to end the threat. FGCU looks to get back on track this weekend back at Swanson Stadium.
