Overview:
Bethune Cookman heads into this game losers of their last three home games, which include two losses to Youngstown State, and a loss to FIU. The Wildcats beat Youngstown State in their home opener for their sole win on this young season. Head Coach Jonathan Hernandez, has led the team since 2018. FGCU played BCU in 2020 and the Eagles took two out of three games, winning the series vs the Wildcats.
BCU is led offensively by Irvin Escobar, who is hitting .571 with 4 RBI’s. The Wildcats pitchers have allowed 27 runs in 4 games. FGCU offensively is carrying this team, and the Eagles have scored 59 runs in the five games they have played this season. The Eagles have been feeling it, and are scoring runs in bunches, as they did Wednesday night vs the University of Minnesota. Alejandro Rodriguez and Alejandro Figueredo have carried this team offensively this season, and up and down the order, there are no holes, five games into the season. Brian Ellis out of the lead off spot, is picking up where he left from last season, and is hitting .368 with 2 HR, and 6 RBI’s. Should be a fun series this weekend as we hope to watch the Eagles bats continue to rake.
