Overview:

FGCU, after two thrilling road victories vs EKU, and Lipscomb, has put themselves in a position to move up to 2nd place in their division, if they can go on a roll at home vs UNA, Stetson, and KSU. JU currently holds the tiebreaker, after their win vs FGCU from Swisher Gymnasium on 1/8. The Eagles will face JU at home on 2/26, in their ASUN regular season finale, and a home game for the ASUN postseason could be on the line, if the Eagles can continue their winning ways. FGCU’s first test comes vs UNA, a team that beat them handedly, 96-81, in the ASUN Conference semifinals last season.

Head Coach Tony Pujol is in his 4th season leading the Lions, and UNA is led offensively thos season by 6’0 FR G Daniel Ortiz, who averages 12.0 ppg. Jamari Blackmon (10.3 ppg) always gives the Eagles trouble, so it will be up to the Eagles defense to game plan against those two guards.

Prediction:

FGCU 84 UNA 76
