Overview:

FGCU get a huge opportunity as they face a Bellarmine University team that has only lost to Jacksonville State University in ASUN Conference play (6-1). The Eagles struggled out of the gate losing road games to JU, and KSU, and sit at 3-4 overall in the ASUN.

Head Coach Scott Davenport has led the program since 2005, and is Bellarmine’s winningest coach in wins and winning percentage. The Knights are only in their 2nd season in NCAA Division I, and played in the CBI last year after finishing 14-8. You would never know this team is in the transition period from NCAA Division II the way they play the game. Dylan Penn leads the Knights averaging 17.4 ppg, and is their best player offensively and defensively. CJ Fleming is an old school type guard that is max effort, and gave the Eagles fits last season. The Knights played an elite non-conference schedule vs #7 Purdue, #1 Gonzaga, #2 UCLA, and West Virginia University.
