Overview:

FGCU struggled in the 2nd half, and it’s the same story all season for the Eagles. It seems like this team plays a strong 1st half where they are leading, or down single digits, and the wheels come off in the 2nd half of games. The Eagles are 1-3 on the road in ASUN play this season, and that’s unacceptable when the road games have included JU and KSU of those three losses. The easy non-conference schedule helped pad wins, and this team is truly facing adversity with every loss, as the fans wonder when this team will make the coaching improvements and player improvements necessary, to make a run in the ASUN.

FGCU was led by Tavian Dunn-Martin, who scored 17 points. Kevin Samuel had another double double (16 pts, 11 reb), and continues his strong season for the Eagles. JSU was led by Demaree King, who finished with a game high 20 points. In the 2nd half, JSU held an 18 point lead vs FGCU before the Eagles came back in the game. FGCU has a huge homestand coming up vs EKU, and Bellarmine, and can’t afford to lose any more games.
