#21 FGCU/JSU RECAP

Jacksonville, AL- #21 FGCU (17-1, 6-0 ASUN) won their 10th game in a row, defeating Jacksonville State University (14-4, 5-1 ASUN) 66-44, Saturday afternoon from the Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Stats:

FGCU shot 49.0% (25/51) from the field, 29.4% (5/17) from beyond the arc, and outrebounded JSU 43-38. The Eagles dished out 11 assists, had 7 steals, and 5 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 12 JSU team turnovers while having 18 team turnovers of their own.

Overview:

The Eagles dominated Jacksonville State, who were previously unbeaten in ASUN play. FGCU was without Kierstan Bell, who missed the game to a knee injury. TK Morehouse (20 pts), Kerstie Phills (17 pts), and Emma List (14 pts) led the Eagles in scoring in today’s game. The Gamecocks were led by Kennedy Gavin, who finished with 10 pts. FGCU only scored 5 three pointers in the game, but shot 49% from the field, which helped the Eagles runaway with this game. FGCU had a 38-21 lead at halftime in today’s game. #21 FGCU keeps rolling, and it’s a testament to how deep this team is depthwise, and how great of a Head Coach Karl Smesko truly is.
