#21 FGCU/STETSON RECAP

Deland, FL- #21 FGCU (16-1, 5-0 ASUN) won their 9th game in a row, defeating Stetson University (8-10, 1-4 ASUN), 78-41, Wednesday night from the Edmunds Center.

Stats:

FGCU shot 39.7% (29/73) from the field, 30.6% (15/49) from beyond the arc, and outrebounded the Hatters 43-40. The Eagles dished out 19 assists, had 8 steals, and 3 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 19 Hatters team turnovers, while having 8 team turnovers of their own.

Kendall Spray 12 pts, 3 reb

Overview:

The Eagles dominated the Hatters, and continued their strong season, staying undefeated in ASUN Conference play. FGCU was led by Kerstie Phills, who finished with a game high 23 pts. Kierstan Bell was injured early in the 1st half, but returned back into the game in the 2nd half, so we imagine she was rested since the game was a blowout. The Hatters were led by Tatiana Streun, who finished with 12 pts. Yazz Wazeerud-Din continues to struggle for Stetson, and finished with only 2 points in the game. FGCU hit 15 three point field goals in the game, while only shooting 11 free throws overall (5/11).

FGCU (16-1, 5-0 ASUN) faces Jacksonville State University (13-3, 4-0 ASUN) Saturday at 2:45 PM from the Pete Mathews Colliseum in Jacksonville, AL.
