PBA/FGCU RECAP

Fort Myers, FL- FGCU (8-1) got back on track Thursday night at home vs Palm Beach Atlantic University (2-6), defeating the Sailfish, 80-52.

Stats:

FGCU shot 42.6% (29/68) from the field, 25.6% (11/43) from beyond the arc, and were outrebounded 37-31 by the Sailfish.  The Eagles dished out 19 assists, had 16 steals, and 0 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 30 PBA team turnovers, while having 13 team turnovers of their own.

Kash Ayuso 20 pts, 7 reb

Shekinah Guthrie 14 pts, 5 reb

Sia Williams 10 pts, 2 reb 

Outstanding Players (FGCU):

Kierstan Bell 18 pts, 3 reb

Overview:

FGCU got back to their winning ways Thursday night from Alico Arena. FGCU was led by Kierstan Bell, who finished with 18 pts in the game. The Sailfish were led by Kash Ayuso, who scored a game high 20 pts. The Eagles forced 30 PBA team turnovers in the game and that was the Stat that sticks out the most.

The Eagles only had a 40-30 halftime lead in the game, and the 3 ball wasn’t raining as consistently, but FGCU pulled away, and outscored Palm Beach Atlantic 40-22 in the 2nd half of the game.

What’s Next:

FGCU faces Ava Maria University Saturday night at 7 PM from Alico Arena.
