Overview:

The Eagles and Tigers put on a show Wednesday night from Alico. Princeton played outstanding defensive throughout the game, and held the Eagles to 27.6% (8/29) from beyond the arc. Smesko vs Berube lived up to the hype and it was a treat to see two of the best mid major coaches in NCAA Women’s Basketball face off.

Kierstan Bell led all scorers with 19 pts and 12 rebounds in the game, finishing with another double double. TK Morehouse (13 pts), and Tyra Cox (11 pts) also finished in double figures in scoring for FGCU. Princeton was led by Abby Meyers, who carried the Tigers offense and finished with 18 pts in the game. Grace Stone (17 pts) and Julia Cunningham (10 pts) also finished in double figures for the Tigers. While this loss stings, the Eagles aren’t afraid to schedule difficult non-conference games, and expect them to get back on track and win some non NCAA D-1 games before facing Michigan State (6-1) in the West Palm Beach Invitational. The Eagles will be ready to attempt to run the table in ASUN Conference play, and we haven’t even see what this team is fully capable of yet, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!

What’s Next:

FGCU enjoys an eight day break before facing Palm Beach Atlantic on 12/9 at 7 PM from Alico Arena.
