Overview:
FGCU enjoyed a 5-0 week last week with wins over Eckerd, Rhode Island, Western Michigan, Southeastern Louisiana, and IPFW. It was super encouraging to see Tavian Dunn-Martin offensively continue to carry this team, and the ASUN’s top scorer (20.3 ppg) even contributed 13 assists Saturday vs SLU. Kevin Samuel has been dominating the glass, and offensively was in double figures in scoring 2 of the 3 Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Invitational games. The double double Samuel had Sunday vs IPFW, was vital in winning a close game vs the Mastodons. The 3 ball carried the Eagles this wekeend, as FGCU shot 44.8% this weekend making 35 3 point field goals in the tournament. Cyrus Largie continues his strong Junior season, and was in double figures in scoring every game this weekend.
These games were all winnable games, but the Eagles still had to earn them, and the team has to be full of confidence as they head to FIU Wednesday night.
