Overview:

The Eagles head into this game facing a hot Rhode Island team who earned two wins in four days vs Boston College. The Rams sole loss came against Tulsa. This game was part of a home and home series, that will finally be concluded this season. The game ended up not being scheduled in the 19-20 season, wasn’t added in the 20-21 season due to COVID-19 scheduling, but we are finally getting it now. The Rams beat the Eagles in their first matchup in the 2017-18 season, 80-60.

The Rams are led in scoring by 6’1 SR G Jeremy Sheppard, who averages 12.8 ppg. Twin brothers 6’10 SO C Makhel, and 6’9 SO C Makhi Mitchell, provide a challenge to guard in the post so expect Kevin Samuel to stay busy for the Eagles. The Rams are led by Head Coach David Cox, who has led the program since 2018.

FGCU is led in scoring by 5’8 GR G Tavian Dunn-Martin who is averaging 18.7 ppg. The guard rotation for FGCU is a strength for the team especially with the play of Cyrus Largie.

Prediction:

RIU 76 FGCU 60
