Overview:
The Dunk City reunion game at Alico Arena is upon us! Head Coach Andy Enfield bring in a super talented USC team full of McDonald’s All-Americans, power 5 conference transfers, and NBA lottery picks.
USC is led in scoring by Boogie Ellis (15.5 ppg), a 6’3 Junior guard, who transferred from the University of Memphis. Our player to watch for is 6’10 JR F Isaiah Mobley. Mobley, is a dynamic forward averaging 12.0 ppg this season, and he will give FGCU matchup problems in the post. Mobley, a 2019 McDonald’s All-American, also declared for the NBA draft previously, but declared to return to USC for his Junior season.
FGCU received impact games from Tavian Dunn-Martin (34 points vs Loyola), and Matt Halvorsen (14 points vs Loyola), and the duo at guard will be counted on vs the Trojans. Caleb Catto is off to a slower start than normal, and could break out at any minute. The matchup of Kevin Samuel vs Isaiah Mobley is the one to watch for Tuesday night. USC has 7 players 6’9 or taller so it will be all hands on deck defending the Trojans.
Prediction:
USC 81 FGCU 62
