She has won six national championships (3 with Baylor University), an Olympic gold medal (1984l, and is set for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in May. She spent her last 21 seasons in Waco, Texas with Baylor University. This matchup pits one of the most successful power 5 conference head coaches, with one of the most successful mid major coaches in Head Coach Karl Smesko. The matchup of Kierstan Bell and Khayla Pointer pits two of the John R Wooden Award Wendy’s Preseason Top 50 against each other, and it will be fireworks.

LSU’s 5’7 GR G Khayla Pointer, 6’5 SO C Hannah Gusters (transfer from Baylor University), and 5’8 GR G Jailin Cherry provide a challenge matchupwise, so it’ll be interesting to see the combinations defensively the Eagles run out there Sunday afternoon.
