Overview:
It’s pretty incredible that FGCU lost this series to JU. In Game 1 of the series, Mason Studstill was pitching the game of his life, in what he now know as his final start as an Eagle. it’s tough to see the 9th inning go the way it went. Studstill had a 1-0 lead heading into the 9th inning, and JU responded, scoring 4 runs and taking the 1st game of the series.
The Eagles took game two of the series courtesy of home runs from Cam Krzeminski, Richie Garcia, and Alejandro Figueredo. Jason Woodward pitched incredible in relief for the Eagles, allowing only 2 hits, and 0 runs in 3.2 IP, in relief and earned the save.
Game 3 which was the rubber game of the series and was difficult to stomach, as starter Ronaldo Gallo only last 0.1 IP in the game and allowed 4 ER. The Eagles bats couldn’t keep up with the Dolphins who feasted off FGCU pitching.
It was great getting a full season to cover the team, and we look forward to even more interviews with current/former players and coaches in the years to come. GO EAGLES.
What’s Next:
JU will now face Liberty University in the ASUN Semifinals and FGCU’s season has come to an end.
