Overview:
The Eagles did what they had to do winning 2 out of 3 games vs Jacksonville University this past weekend. The loss Friday night was difficult to take since the bullpen allowed 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning.
FGCU responded though, taking game two Saturday night, courtesy of a huge 9th inning behind a home run from Alexander Figueredo, and doubles from Johnny Long, and Brian Ellis.
Game 3 was a shootout between both teams, with the Dolphins scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th, tying the game up at 10. FGCU responded with 4 runs in the top of the 10th courtesy of a clutch pinch hit 2 RBI double from Alejandro Rodriguez, an RBI from Richie Garcia, and Rodriguez scoring on a fielding error by the Dolphins.
What’s Next:
FGCU finishes the regular season on the road, vs #13 FSU (25-17, 17-13 ACC) for a two game series, starting Tuesday night in Tallahassee.
