Overview:

FGCU picked up a huge series win this weekend vs Wright State. Wright State’s RPI was 32 and FGCU came in at 55 so winning this series will be a big deal when it comes to NCAA Selection time.

Mason Studstill won his 5th game of the year Friday afternoon, and the Eagles hung on, as the Raiders scored 3 runs in both the top of the 8th, and top of the 9th inning, but the Eagles escaped with the series opening win. The offense carried the Eagles once again this series, as Stephen Wilmer, and Joe Kinker both had great series for FGCU.

Game 2, was a close game for FGCU, until Wright State poured it on courtesy of a 6 run bottom of the 8th, blowing the game open.

The turning point in game 3, was when the Eagles who were up 4-0 came to bat in the bottom of the 8th, after Wright State had tied the game previously in the top of the 7th. Joe Kinker hit a clutch 2 RBI double down the left field line, which scored Johnny Long and Jalen Townsend, winning the series for FGCU, after Joey Mugavero finished off the Raiders in the 9th. It was another inspiring series win for the Eagles.
